Etta Literacy Tutoring at GiGi's Playhouse- Spring 2015

Last Spring, Etta helped pilot the one-on-one literacy tutoring program at GiGi's Playhouse and we're back at it again! We took a few months off for summer and fall (we didn't want to overwhelm her schedule in the Fall with the start of Kindergarten already on her plate).

We had her first session on Sunday afternoon, March 8th. Her tutor from last spring, Cammie, made sure that she was Etta's tutor again this time around. We love Cammie! She's so great with Etta. The words we started with used pictures with Curious George because Etta loves George. The first 8 words Cammie started with are George, balloon, blue, yellow, cake, hat, paint, and banana. During her 4th session last week, we added four new words- butterfly, book, kite, and cookie. She's doing so awesome and picking up the words so quickly! We can definitely see an improvement from week to week (and we also read the words in the form of a book each night, which helps reinforce what she's learning at GiGi's). The Spring session goes until May.
