Today was Daniel's second birthday! In fact, we are only 25 minutes away from the time he was born (11:58 pm), but I'm pretty sure I will not post this until after midnight.
So, Daniel's birthday. YAY!
Last night I decorated a little in the breakfast nook so he would have something special to wake up to. I didn't get to see his reaction, but Keith says that he Oooohed over his chair decorations. Keith took the day off today so we could spend the day as a family.
Daniel was a little on the cranky side this morning. I think it was because he has been a little sick lately and he didn't sleep well last night, but we tried very hard to make the best of it.
We took Daniel to our new Wal-Mart and let him pick out something special for his birthday (but we really just ended up with the toy Daddy wanted. Ha!) Daniel had fun on his shopping spree, dropping all kinds of things into the buggy, but it was pretty obvious that his favorite thing was a pink and green shopping cart. Daddy steered him back toward a Hot Wheels race track and that's what we ended up bringing home.
Poor thing, STILL wanted that shopping cart! I would have bought it for him if we didn't already have one at home/
After we got home, we fed the kids and Daniel took a much needed nap.
After he got up from his nap, Daddy started to put the Hot Wheels racetrack together...
But you see who actually put it together-
Daniel was/is very hesitant to play with the racetrack. This was not one bit surprising to me. The track makes noise and noise like that makes Daniel nervous. Etta loved it though!

We played a little more before dinner and I made them some fries as a birthday treat. After dinner, we lit two candles and sang "Happy Birthday" to our big boy!
Then, of course, my messy kids needed a bath! Then, off to bed!
While Daniel had some.. "moments" today, I think it was, overall, a special day and I'm glad we took the time to celebrate it!
Happy 2nd Birthday, Daniel! We love you!
