Spontaneous Morning

Last night, Courtney from KidTalk sent me an email to let me know that we would not be having KidTalk this morning.  I was glad to have a day off.  It's been a pretty busy week.  I thought I was going to hang around in my jammies all day, but Suzy texted me to see if I wanted to go to Jennifer's "Music With Mar" class at 10:00. This was at 8:45 and we had to leave the house by 9:40 to make it on time.  So, I got us dressed and we actually made it there on time! It was a VERY small group today. Just Jen's daughter, Delaney, Suzy's son, Owen and our little Etta.

Etta had a great time playing in the bubbles and tapping her wooden sticks and playing with all of the musical instruments and marching around the room in a little parade.  I forgot my camera today, but Suzy had her iPhone, so we were able to get a few shots.
After the music class, Jen had to run to get Molly from school and Suzy and I went to Chick-fil-A for lunch.  The place was PACKED!  I've never seen THIS location this packed at 11:15, but it was!  After a few minutes, it occurred to me that there were a lot of school age children in there and then they seemed to leave around the same time.  Field trip?  I don't know, but we were able to find a booth and we took turns ordering our food.  I got some chicken for Etta, but the last couple of times I took E to Chick-fil-A, she didn't want to eat it.  This time, she ate about 5 nuggets and a couple of those waffle fries!  She ate more than I thought she would and would have kept eating, but we ran out.  It's always a good day for me when Etta eats well, and lately she has been!

When we got home, Etta took a nap.  She fell asleep as soon as I put her in bed! Another miracle, because lately she's been running around the room for an hour or more before passing out. It's always a good day when Etta takes a good nap! ;)

After her nap, we went up to play in her playroom.  This is what that room looks like after a good afternoon of playing!
Then, for dinner, I cooked a frozen pizza.  Etta loves pizza, but I usually feed it to her.  Usually, I hold the pizza and she takes bites off of it.  Today, I decided to put the whole slice on her plate to see if she would feed it to herself properly.  She totally did!  It was really cute when she held that big piece of pizza and took bites off of the end of it.  She's getting to be such a big girl and she's just so damn cute!

She likes to wipe her own mouth too. ;)

She ate a slice and a half.  yum!

Banana Bread

I've had some ripe bananas sitting on the counter for a couple of days. So today Etta and I made banana bread.  She LOVES getting to climb up on her stepstool to help cook.  First we had to mash those bananas up.  That part took longer than I thought it would because Etta kept eating the bananas. It was really cute and very funny.
We finally got them all mashed up and we added the rest of the ingredients and popped it in the oven to bake.

After dinner, I gave Etta a tiny little slice

and....

she didn't like it.  *sigh*  Oh well, more for me!

Happy Valentine's Day!

Last night Etta made cards for her therapists and one for her Daddy.  She did such a great job squeezing the glue bottle (with some assistance) and then placing the hearts where she wanted them and "pat pat"ing them down.  She also wrote a special message on the inside of each card all on her own!

"pat pat"

This morning I dressed her in her very cute Valentine's shirt (made by Layne James Embroidery) and we headed off to therapy.  The drive that usually takes 25 minutes took us a little over an hour today and we missed KidTalk because of that.  So, Courtney and Laura didn't get their cards yet, but E was able to give out some of her other valentines.  :)

When Keith got home this evening, we exchanged our Valentine cards and gave Valentine hugs.

Thanks for my card Daddy!

Etta gives Daddy the card she made for him.

Etta gives Mommy her card.

Thanks for my sweet card, little E!
(I gave her a card too, but apparently we didn't take any pictures of that)

Then, we enjoyed our spaghetti dinner and Etta was off to bed.  Night Night, sweet little Valentine!

Annabelle's Party

Our friend Annabelle turned two in January, but she was sick at the time and they postponed her party until today.  So, Etta put on her party outfit and we headed up to Goofballs in Franklin for the festivities.  Etta loved running around that place.  Climbing on the play equipment and sliding on the slides and playing with the steering wheel of the driving video game.

There were these tubes that blew air so that you could shoot little soft balls around the room.  Etta loved when I pointed them so they would blow air in her face.
