A Few More Days of Vacation

After we checked out of the condo in Perdido Key, we went over to my sister, Deanne's house in Pensacola for a night. We got there around lunchtime and took it easy around their house for the rest of the afternoon/evening. The next morning, we all went to breakfast together before getting on the road.

When we left Pensacola, we headed up to my mom's house in southeast Alabama for a few days. It's always good to go home. To see my parents and my Nana and my little sister and my step-brother's kids (Etta and Daniel's only cousins). We also got to see my Aunt Tammie and Aunt Jeanne for a few hours on our first day there. Oh! I also laid eyes on my step-brother, Adam, for a few minutes when he stopped by the house on his way through town late one night. It's pretty busy around there! lol.
It was Nana's 86th birthday a couple of days before we arrived. So, late that afternoon, we celebrated with an early dinner and some delicious "milky way" cake!
The kids had a good time hanging out together.

Nana was given a kitten on her birthday and we all had fun playing with him!

The weather was so warm that the pool felt like bath water, and Keith took Etta in a couple of times. It was all fun and games until Etta puked in the pool one day. Still not sure what caused it, but I think it may have been what she had eaten that morning. Either way, the incident cleared the pool pretty quickly and no one got back in the rest of the time we were there (Bill worked really hard to throw a bunch of chemicals in the pool to sanitize it or whatever).

We were in Headland from Sunday afternoon until Wednesday morning (July 4th) when we hopped back on the road and headed back home to Tennessee! It was really great to see everyone and to have such a long vacation, but it was also SO great to get home! We got back home around 2:00pm and took the afternoon to settle back in. We also took the kids out back for a few minutes so Etta could throw some little pop-its on the patio to celebrate the 4th. We had wanted to pick up some more small firecrackers and such, but there was a burn-ban in our city because of the drought/extreme heat situation and fireworks were illegal.
