Wenzler 2.0- Anatomy Scan

Today we had our 20 week anatomy scan. The baby was quite active and it kicked the ultrasound wand several times. :) The sonographer even switched it over to 4D for a bit and we got some sweet shots of it's face.
We also found out the gender.. but you have to wait until Etta's party on Saturday to find out ;)

Memorial Day Weekend

We spent much of the weekend tidying and cleaning the house... well, *I* did anyway. Keith spent a lot of time in the yard- mowing and whatever else he does out there. It was finally warm enough this weekend to break out the little baby pool for Etta. She had fun jumping and splashing in the pool and running around the back yard.

Today, Keith got up early so he could get the ribs on the grill. They needed to be on there for three hours and we had family coming around 10:30 or so for lunch. So, he got up early enough to get the meat going by 7:30. I was still sleeping... :)

Keith's parents and grandparents and uncle arrived around 10:15 and we spent some time visitng before lunch. Then, it was time to FEAST! So. Much. Food! Etta sat at the table with us and ate cheese and pudding. She was done eating and wanted down while we were still eating. We could hear her playing in the living room, but then she was suspiciously silent. So, I went to check on her and found this:
Soon after, I put her in her room for her nap (which she didn't take right away). Mel helped clear the table and I did the dishes while everyone was visiting in the living room. Then, we joined them. They left around 2:30 or so (E fell asleep about 5 minutes before they left). Before I let them leave though, I MADE SURE we took a picture of this very handsome and patriotic group. :)
Happy Memorial Day!

Owen and Lyla Come to Play

Last night Suzy and I made plans for them to come over for a visit this morning. They arrived around 10:00 and we went up to play in the playroom. The big kids played and the mamas talked and squished on the the littlest one.
Etta took this one (with a little help from me to get Suzy and Lyla in frame)

Oh and Suzy showed up at my house with a DOZEN doughnuts! I mean, I guess I can eat that many doughnuts before they go bad...

Also, I'm 20 weeks pregnant today! We've made it halfway! :)

A Farewell and A Playdate and Some Big Bugs!

Last night a handful of us ladies got together to say farewell to one of our group. Our friend Angelia is moving to Virginia next week. We met because we both have a daughter with Down syndrome (Angelia's daughter is Annabelle). They live(d) fairly close to us and we got together for playdates every now and then. So, last night, at a mexican restaurant in Cool Springs, we had a send-off with laughter and margaritas (well, I had tea). Angelia, you will be missed!

This morning we had a Ds Family Playdate at a park in Nashville. I try to plan these about every six weeks, but this was the first one since December (yikes!). A lot of families said they couldn't come (family vacations, kid's sporting events, etc.), but we still managed a good little group of 6 families.

I also can not not mention the cicadas! I knew they were out and about for the first time in 13 years, but we don't have them down here. Most of our area is new development that was once farmland without many trees. BUT, Nashville is a nice, established city with plenty of mature trees and landscape and the cicadas are right at home there. So, when we got to the park, I was totally fascinated by all of the cicadas and the little holes in the ground from which they emerged a week or so ago. They were also a little noisy, but one of the other moms, Lauren, said that it was nothing compared to the noise at her house. She says she has a hard time hearing her tv over their racket.
all of their molted skins.. eeeeew!
