March 7th was Molly Ruth's birthday party on her actual 4th birthday. She had a party that afternoon and I went with just Etta because the little two were napping. Etta had a great time playing in the cardboard cottage and playing catch with the balloons and of course, eating cake!
The party was basically over and the only people left hanging around were close family friends when Jillian remembered that she had forgotten the pinata. So, Etta and I hung around a little longer so she could whack on the pinata some.
She really loved it! She would yell "Hi-Ya!" when she went to whack it. The real slugger turned out to be Riley. She is so strong and a few good whacks from her gave the kids a TON of candy on the ground. Please excuse the buzzing in the next video. My phone's camera does that sometimes for some reason... maybe I have dropped it a few too many times. ;)
We had a great time at the party and a loved getting to celebrate Molly's birthday with her!
******I want to also take a minute to acknowledge the loss of Grandma Marsh on Friday, March 6th.
Grandma Marsh was my "Aunt" Becky's mother, Jillian's grandmother and Molly's great grandmother- and they all lived together in the same house (Grandma Marsh had a great little "apartment" in the daylight basement of the house). I have known Jillian and her family since I was 9 years old and Grandma Marsh had always been a consistent "character" around there (and she was a character! lol.). Molly's birthday celebration the next day was just that- a celebration. And it was exactly what Grandma Marsh would have wanted.
Jillian posted this one to her instagram a few weeks ago and I love it.
We miss you Grandma Marsh! Lots of love!
