Friday, March 6th was the Best Buddies Gala. I volunteer to work this event every year and it's always a fun night and a huge fundraiser for Best Buddies! The mission of Best Buddies is to establish a global volunteer movement that creates opportunities for one-to-one friendships, integrated employment, and leadership development for individuals in intellectual and developmental disabilities. Best Buddies is celebrating 5 years of having its doors open here in Tennessee and the organization has done some incredible things and made some awesome buddy matches in that time.

The event that night was the biggest ever! 500 people were in attendance! 500!!!! I only got to watch a little bit of the program because I was working the event all night, but I had fun running into a few of my friends and, of course, enjoyed being able to volunteer (and getting all dressed up for the night).
This is Lauren. She also has a child with Ds and she is also almost always a volunteer at Best Buddies events- my partner in crime. :)
