Visit #1- They arrived JUST in time to hop in my van and come with me to pick Daniel and Etta up from their schools.
Then, we just went home and played in the back yard and had dinner and just hung out. Tia Joan gave Alice her birthday present.

The next morning, I insisted we try and grab a picture before Etta went to school. The front porch was a sunny choice... (Too sunny- nothing but squinty-eyed pictures)
They didn't need to leave until after lunch time that day, so we went up to Cool Springs and Keith joined us for lunch at Jim & Nicks. Then, they got on the road to head north and I took the kids back home for a nap.
Here they are at The Derby:
Here WE are watching The Derby at home:
(This hat belonged to my grandfather. It's one of the only things I brought back from Panama with me after he passed away. There is a little medallion on the side that says it is from the New York World's Fair 196401965. The kids looked cute in it.)
Visit #2- The next Monday, around noon, Lita and Tia Juana came back for one more night. We took it easy around the house (and tried again for a group photos on the front steps) and then we went up to Cool Springs for dinner at Chuy's.
They got on the road again the next morning. The visits were short, but we're so glad that they added us to their route to Kentucky and back. So great to see you two!
