Oct 2013- Buddy Walk

It was a cold, rainy day for Buddy Walk this year. The kind of day/event where your toes are cold and you can't manage to warm them until you take a long, hot shower that night.

So, anyway, Buddy Walk is a pretty big day for us and for Etta and we do our best to make it every year. It's an opportunity to support the Down syndrome community and, specifically, support for our daughter. So, even though I thought about backing out this year because of the weather, we went anyway. We didn't really have the chance to do much mingling with other families because everyone was huddled under tents trying to keep dry.

There is some sort of theme each year. Last year the individuals with Ds were "superheros" and were given capes to wear. This year, they were "celebrities" and walked the Red Carpet before beginning the walk.

The rain stopped *just long enough* for us to do a short walk and started up again *just* as we were crossing the finish line. So, we snapped a soggy group photo and we headed for the car.

Etta loved her special cheer. :) (VIDEO)

We stopped for lunch at a Mexican restaurant before Keith headed home with the kids (I went to GiGi's to work). Love that our kids love Mexican food!
