An Unplanned Hike

One weekend day, about a week before my due date, my husband convinced his VERY pregnant wife to get up earlyish and take Etta to the park. By "park" he meant playground. I was all for this since I was starting to feel that special time with Etta as our only slipping away. So, I got dressed and we headed out. When we arrived at the park, Keith drove past the little playground area saying that he had heard there was a new hiking trail. **light bulb** Keith REALLY wanted to check out this little hiking trail. Sigh. So, we parked and then he wanted to "just walk in a little bit to check it out". Now, I feel I need to remind you AGAIN that I was 39 weeks pregnant! Before I knew it, we weren't just walking, we were HIKING up this hill and I was waddling and huffing and puffing and saying I was ready to turn back, but Keith pressed on, saying we could turn around once we made it to the top of the hill (which we were almost to the top of). whuck? I should have sat down right there! Well, we made it to the top and no one toppled over. The trail is nice and Keith has already gone back twice to hike it on his own since that day.
running down the hill...

....aaaand..... faceplant! (saw that one coming a mile away!)

After the hike, we took Etta over to the actual playground, which was seriously lame (and frankly riddled with safety hazards) and we won't bother going again.

After we got home, I caught Etta putting on my shoes and I thought it was cute enough for a video. :)
