It surprisingly took about four people to do this! I made an appointment for her over at the Merle Norman here in town and everyone there was so interested in this little one that they ALL came out to watch/help. First, there was the original girl who I had called and made the appointment with, then the lady who seemed to be either the manager or the owner. The manager lady seemed like she was the one who knew what she was doing. We also had the sweet, older receptionist who oohed and aahed over Alice, but refused to be in the room when the actual piercing happened. Also, a couple more came out of the woodwork. One ended up taking pictures for me and the other thought she could distract my three-month-old with videos on her phone (HAHAHA). In case you lost count that's five employees and one momma.
Alice slept as we figured out where the dot should go on her ears, but she eventually woke because we were trying to look at her straight on to see if the dots were even on both sides. She started getting fussy and we were trying to figure out the best angle to hold her and it was turning into a "too many cooks in the kitchen" situation, when suddenly, manager lady takes charge, grabs the little piercing gun from the original girl and just goes for it. It actually took me by surprise a little, but I was really glad she had just jumped in there (truth is, I was getting nervous about the other girl doing the job). Then, she moved over to her right ear and punched that hole.
Alice cried some, but she got over it pretty quickly.
Pixie Girl has sparkles in her ears now! :)
