Back in July, Etta and I (and Shalissa and Isabella) went to the grand opening of a children's play space here in Spring Hill called Storybook Village. At the grand opening, I signed up for door prizes and was surprised when I actually won something! I won a birthday party! It included admission for 15 kids and food and stuff and I decided to use the party as a play date for our Ds group. The owners were very accommodating and even provided some coffee/juices and danishes for the group. We had a pretty good turn-out. A few people who told me they were coming weren't able to make it, but we still ended up with seven families. It was also nice that we did the party from 9-11, which meant that we got the place to ourselves for the first hour before they opened to the general public.
After playing we went home so E could eat lunch and take a nap. She ate lunch, but she didn't take a nap. I knew this was no bueno since we had a birthday party to go to in the afternoon, but I just hoped that maybe she would take a nap on the nearly hour drive up there. And she did, BUT she fell asleep 10 minutes before we got there and it took me five minutes to wake her up. Surprisingly, she was in a pretty good mood for most of the party! She only fell apart in the last 15 minutes or so.
The party was Liam's FIRST birthday party! In case you forgot, Liam is the son of our friends, Lauren and Dustin. It was actually his birthday today, which made the celebration even more special. It's hard to believe that sweet, funny little boy is a whole year old! Happy Birthday, Liam! We love you!
