Whew! What a day!!
This morning we headed to Nashvhille for our monthly family playdate with our other little friends who have Down syndrome. I know we get together with our friends pretty often, but once a month we do a Saturday playdate so more people can attend. I'm actually in charge of picking the date/time/location of these playdates. I had planned for us to meet at a local park, but when it rained a bunch yesterday and with a forecast of rain today, I sent out emails to let everyone know that we were moving the location to a local church that has an indoor playground. We've had a few of our playdates at this church playground before. The very first time we met there the playground was closed for repairs. We ended up playing in the LARGE common area just outside of the playground, and I learned a lesson about calling ahead to be sure that the playground would be open before planning a playdate. So, when I decided to change venues for the playdate yesterday, I called the church. It went to voicemail. The message said that their office hours are Mon-Thurs. So, I just took my chances and assumed it was open. It wasn't. :/ Of course. I learned a new lesson... call Mon-Thurs when I want to make sure the place is open.
So, we made do... again... we hung out in the common area. I went to the car and got a few toys and we just kind of hung out. I think in the end, it turned out okay. Here are a few of the pictures from today (I stole a couple from Emily's Blog).

We stayed for about an hour and a half and left when Etta started getting fussy (sleepy). We took the long way to Murfreesboro so E could get a nap. She got to sleep for about 30 minutes before we arrived at Toot's for a lateish lunch. Etta was so cute in that really high highchair. She ate well and stayed in a pretty good mood the whole time. Keith and I tore up our fried pickles and hot wings (mine were of the boneless variety).
After lunch, we headed over to Troy, Jen, and Addison's house for Addi's first birthday party! Addison looked SO cute in her party outfit! They had a little Jumpy House in the front yard and Etta made a beeline for it. She had never been in a bouncy house before, so I let her get in with Raylin. Raylin is only two days younger than Etta and she is the daughter of one of Keith's college buddies. They actually live in Spring Hill and Lindsey and I are definitely going to make sure we get the girls together for a playdate! The girls played really well together. Etta followed Raylin around, copying everything she was doing. If Raylin (purposely) fell down, Etta would lay down too. If Raylin ran into the mesh wall, so did Etta. They were cute.
Then, of course, we all made our way inside to sing "Happy Birthday" and watch Addi smash her cake.
After presents were opened, we said our goodbyes. As you can imagine, Etta was starting to get a little cranky (running on only a 30 minute nap). I thought she might fall asleep on the drive home, but she didn't. She had a bath once we got home and she had dinner and I put her in bed at 6:30 (on the early side of normal bedtime) thinking she'd pass out. She didn't She didn't fall asleep until about 7:45!
