Seriously. Another Snow Day.

SO, they say this was our seventh "snow event" of the season.  Wow!  We're usually lucky around here if we get two of these events.  It's been a crazy winter. As I was posting the pictures from our last snow day, I noted to Keith that we have not built a snowman yet.  So, we said that if it snowed again, we'd be sure to do it.  Well, it snowed last night- right at rush hour.  Luckily, we were all home when it started around 4:00, but my friend Lauren took FIVE hours to get home last night with her sweet, tired, hungry Liam with her.  We probably got a little more than 2 inches in a couple hours.

This morning as Etta and I were enjoying our warm, comfy pajamas by the fireplace, Keith reminded me that we needed to go build a snowman for Etta.  Really?  I whined about this like a four-year-old because I didn't feel like being cold, but he made me. So, I changed my clothes and I put Etta in about four layers of clothes and we went out (in the cold) to build our snowman.

Well, Keith tried and then I tried, but "operation snowman" was a spectacular failure!  The snow was just too powdery and it wouldn't stick together.  So, we made snow angels instead.  :)

And Keith spun Etta until she got dizzy.

Snow Day- January 10, 2011

Sunday night into Monday morning, the snow came down.  We got about 5 inches or so.  It's not much to a northerner, but for Tennesse, it was a pretty big event.  Anticipating the inability to leave their houses for a few days, people flocked to the grocery stores on Sunday and cleared out the bread and milk.  I grabbed a few extra things when I went on Saturday. ;)
So, after her nap yesterday, we bundled Etta up and took her outside.  She rode the sled for a few minutes as she usually does, but this time around, she was all about running up and down the little hill between our house and the neighbors.  She would hike to the top, sign (and say) "more" and then "run" back down.  She had a lot of fun, and we had to drag her back inside when we were done.

and here is the snow angel I held her down and forced her to make helped her make.

Etta's "I'm done" face.

And a video!  Yay!

The 1st Snow of the Season

We watched the snow fall off and on all day today and after Etta's nap, I bundled her up like the kid in A Christmas Story, and we went out in it!  Keith pulled her down the street on the sled and half-way back up, we let her walk.  Then we went in because we were cold!  The last picture is of me and E sitting by the fire warming up.
