Alice turns ONE!

Our little Pixie Girl turned one last Saturday and we celebrated with a small party- Pixie-themed, OF COURSE!

The party was in the afternoon. I had planned it around her usual nap, except Alice decided to take a morning nap, which meant she would require a second nap in the afternoon. So, she was asleep when her party started and I let her sleep through the first thirty minutes of it because she needed it.

When Alice finally joined her party, she was a little overwhelmed by the crowd in our living room and I felt her tiny little hand grip my arm just a little tighter. She wasn't upset, she just didn't want me to let go of her. So, I held tight too. :)

Speaking of "holding tight". AWE!

The look on my face cracked me up, so I had to add this photo.

She eventually allowed me to place her on the floor so we could check out her gifts. Her favorite this year came from her Aunt Jessi and Uncle Mike (a little puzzle). Big brother and big sister REALLY wanted to "help" Alice unwrap her gifts and they both had a tough time accepting that they were for Alice. It's okay. No one was scarred for life. At least, I hope not! Ha!

Daniel ate his weight in cheese (and blueberries)

After gifts we had some cake! Once again, Dorea Johnston with Tis So Sweet Cakes made an adorable, whimsical cake for our little Pixie. Also, her shirt was made by Lydia over at Layne James Embroidery and Designs (I never managed a FULL shot of it while she was wearing it, but I'm including another picture). She wasn't too sure about her cake at first, but once she got going, she REALLY got going!

After cake, the little Pixie needed a birthday bath. She loves bath time!

We spent some time outside with friends and family after her bath and we managed a group shot of Alice with her brother and sister, her parents, two sets of her grandparents and her great grandparents.

Thanks again to everyone who was able to join us in celebrating Alice's special day!
