Field Day/Last Day

Today was Etta's last day of school. Well, it was the last day for the regular school year. We had a meeting back in March and determined that she qualified for Extended School Year services and will go for 2 two week sessions over the summer (one in June and one in July).

To celebrate the end of the school year the Early Childhood classes had a field day this morning! Etta had a great time running around (barefoot) in the grass, making a hand print T-shirt and eating a picnic snack with her buddy, Piper.

Etta and her SLP, Ms. Kristi. She's so sweet and Etta loves to run and hug her in the mornings. :)

Painting her shirt with Ms. Mandy

Etta LOVES Ms. Mandy!

Everyone loves the parachute!

Sneaky classmate coming in for an Oreo. lol.

Snack with her buddy, Piper

Our friend, Liam making his shirt

This series of Liam's little sister, Karis lusting after a cupcake cracks me up! Love those chubby legs!

She was literaly trembling as Erin handed her the cupcake.

She milked that half of a cupcake! She even didn't want the quarter piece that Liam threw in the grass to go to waste. So, she ate that too. lol. It was just so funny/cute!

Liam was a little tired. So, they headed home for an early nap.

Toward the end of the morning, Etta handed out end-of-the-year gifts to her teachers. My friend Lydia at Layne James Embroidery and Designs made some REALLY cute "Everything Pouches" and one market tote for me. They turned out so cute and were a huge hit with her teachers/therapists!
Inside the pouches, I added a $5 gift card to Sweet CiCi's, a little personalized pocket mirror, and a thank you note (signed by Etta). Ms. Mandy also got an Everything Pouch and a beach towel in her market tote.
*And for the record, that's one lead teacher, two para pros, two occupational therapists, one speech language pathologist, and one physical therapist! Whew! She has a TEAM!

I was very sad to learn that her teacher, Ms. Mandy, will NOT be returning next year. SUCH a bummer! We LOVE Ms. Mandy! Also, one of her para pros, Ms. Karen, let me know today that she isn't returning next year either (she will be moving into our neighborhood in the Fall, though). :(

If any of Etta's EC teachers/therapists are reading this: Thanks for a great first year in the Early Childhood Program!
